Lxxx (Day18) – Dear brothers and sisters, Today our church starts three-day fasting. We will be united in prayer for Mariupol and other cities which are surrounded by the enemy, the cities which are being bombed and destroyed, the cities where people stay without food, they can’t even bury the dead because of constant shooting. We also pray that the evil that the enemy plans will be directed at him.(Ps 9:16)
Our town is not safe for refugees yet because of shooting and bombing we experience from the sea and air. The family that we expected to receive in our church yesterday decided to move to a safer place. So, our main efforts now is the help to the army and to elderly and disabled people around.
Our son is volunteering with us. He does home visits with Sxxx, finds out the needs, buys and delivers the stuff for the army. He also takes care of his elderly grandparents and it gives opportunity to Sxxx and me do other things away from home.
Our counseling center has more calls from people. There is one tendency – fear and uncertainty. People can’t make a decision what to do, whether to leave to another place or to stay. I talked to one lady who was in panic. Her husband is away and she stays at home with her children and elderly parents (it’s a typical situation of many people). It’s impossible for her to leave and she doesn’t feel safe staying where she is. She is so afraid for her family. I helped her to analyze her situation and see how God was protecting them till now. Then we talked about possible safety measures they can take. She calmed down.
Many people can’t make a decision what to do in this situation. Rxxx shared the stories of people who don’t know whether to leave or stay. They don’t feel safe staying on their cities but are afraid to leave to the unknown place. And the task of the counselor is to help them calm down, do the analysis of the situation and make a sound decision.
We want to start support groups, first online and then off-line.
Please, pray for our country and for the cities that are blocked by the enemy. Please, pray for the opportunities to share the gospel.

Our ladies Bible study lifted you up in prayer yesterday. We are inspired by the courage and faithfulness of your church members. I pray today that God brings an end to this war and many hearts turn to Him. May He keep you, your family, and the church safe as you minister and share the love of Christ. I thank God that your son is there to help and may you comfort each other. May the counselors have the right words. May God cause storms on the sea and stop the bombing. I am so sorry this is happening. I feel so helpless sitting here in the United States and reading about the horrific situation in Mariupol. I cry and pray a lot for you all. Thank you for keeping us updated! I will continue to pray and hope that the Lord provides a way for us to help in a tangible way. God Bless you and keep you strong.

We are praying for you. As someone already stated, we here in the United States of America feel so helpless wanting to help you. We haven’t experienced a war on our own soil since our own Civil War 160 years ago, so I can only imagine how it must be very difficult to know what to do; to stay or leave. If we were Ukrainians, I would be too old to fight, but we would be torn to stay for our daughters’ and sons-in-law’s sake. Believe me, I think of and pray for all of you all the time. May God bless everyone in Ukraine.

Though you walk through the valley of death, He calls you to fear no evil, His rod and staff will be your comfort. He will be with you and in you to guide each step. We pray for your church ministry, those stuck and suffering, the need for drivers, supplies, safe haven during the bombing, food, water, medicines and courage in Christ to stand strong in His armor.
