From Euromaiden Press: The dream of one brave young man will continue to live on and make Ukraine a better, greener place.
Semen Oblomei, who turned 22 on June 13, was killed by an aerial bomb on the front line in Sievierodonetsk on June 21. He took up arms even though he had a passion for nurturing trees and plants. Semen was an eco-activist who researched eco-settlements and volunteered in numerous events across Ukraine. He was a third-year student at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and had successfully completed a four-month course at the Swedish University of Environmental Management.
A significant part of Sem’s life was dedicated to his work at the Pelican Live Foundation, where he invested a lot of energy and passion in their projects.
Now, the Pelican Live Foundation and Semen’s family have established the Semen Oblomei Scholarship Fund. Its mission is to raise awareness about nature among Ukrainians and create opportunities for individuals to become certified professionals in the field.
