4/29/2023 – Bakhmut, before and after the Russian invasion

From Euromaiden Press: The city of Bakhmut, or at least parts of it, is still under the control of the Ukrainian armed forces. The city is under constant artillery fire, which does not stop day or night, regardless of whether the weather is cloudy or sunny (usually, when it is cloudy, the artillery is a little quieter due to poor visibility for drones, but in Bakhmut it does not matter anymore).

You can only move around the city at speed, because any vehicle is a target. Enemy drones are hovering everywhere and seeing everything, there are no safe areas in Bakhmut today.

One of the symbols of Bakhmut is a high-rise building at the entrance to the city, with a mural depicting a happy family: a father holding his son on his shoulders, and a mother holding her daughter. Only the father and son are left.

The building depicting the woman and the girl no longer exists. The Russian air strike and numerous artillery strikes reduced the house to a pile of rubble…

This is what they are doing to our cities. This is what they are doing to our families.
