From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 499):
Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish.
Psalm 49:20
War is inconvenient. It has robbed us of many ordinary pleasures and conveniences:
— There is no avia connection due to possible air raids, which immensely complicates traveling and international delivery.
— Curfew has become natural, so when I watch a movie, and someone plans to go out at night, I get nervous if they would make it home before the curfew.
— There are certain restrictions on traveling to the regions close to the national border or objects of strategic importance. Sightseeing might have to be postponed until our victory.
— When traveling somewhere, you usually take all of your documents (just in case) and bring an extra supply of medication (in case you will be delayed because of some emergency).
— You are careful about making long-term plans or committing to something in a distant future, but you also learn to devise alternative plans for almost anything.
— You are separated from many of your friends and have to give up many routine activities, but at the same time, you feel incredibly connected to the new people you share your experiences with.
— You are painfully aware of how fleeting life is, so you make time to stop and smell the roses and appreciate your loved ones.
Through all these inconveniences, one thing is clear and certain — God is faithful, and He will never leave us.
The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
Isaiah 40:8
