From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 520):
Make haste, O God, to deliver me!
O Lord, make haste to help me!
Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life!
Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt!
Psalm 70:1-2
Today, Russia launched missiles at the city of Dnipro. They hit a building of the Security Service of Ukraine and a residential building near it.
We see God’s faithfulness in reducing the number of victims. The SSU building was empty as it was Friday night, and the missile hit just the corner of a building. The residential building was just out of construction, so most apartments were still vacant or in the process of remodeling, and the missile destroyed only the upper floors of the building.
Still, nine people (including a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old) sought medical help. They mostly suffered from the shock wave and have concussions and minor wounds.
My husband is from the city of Dnipro. We walked down that street every time we went downtown. I remember looking at that newly built apartment building the last time we walked past it (before the full-scale invasion) and telling my husband what a lovely place it must be to live in.
This was an intentional attack on the downtown area with lots of civilians around, and it is a miracle and God’s mercy that we don’t have a high number of casualties.
But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay!
Psalm 70:5
