From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 561):
Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them.
Psalm 111:2
My passage for today was Psalm 111. Oh, what an important reminder to notice God’s wondrous works, His majesty, faithfulness, and grace! We get caught up in daily troubles, anxieties, or even routines, and it’s so easy to get impatient, start grumbling, and lose sight of the big picture.
God has been incredibly merciful to Ukraine, and we trust He will never forsake us.
Today’s picture — our soldiers found fragments of a Russian assault drone shot down while attacking Ukrainian positions. The writing on its wings says, “Nothing personal. We were paid to do it.” It feels like this “message” makes it even worse — people are ready to kill others not because they are zealous about their conviction, not because they are forced and threatened, but because they were offered a good price. Thirty pieces of silver are as relevant as ever. May we be strong in the face of temptation.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
