9/24/2023 – Patience is definitely one of the virtues we get to train in during this war…

Today’s picture was shared by someone from Crimea. You can see the fire in the Russian headquarters in the background, and the note reads, “Crimea is Ukraine.” It is a pretty brave picture, knowing the severity of possible persecution.

From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 577):

‭‭ Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm‬ ‭127:1‬

The Ukrainian army has carried out several significant attacks on the occupational forces in Crimea over the past few days. It is encouraging to see some progress there as we hope for complete liberation. At the same time, a part of me doesn’t want the active combat zone to spread out into new areas. However, someone shared recently that many Russians who moved to Crimea still feel rather safe there because the Ukrainian army is very precise, hitting only military objects (thanks to the high-precision weapons provided by our partners).
On Friday, our forces hit a Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol (Crimea) just as a big meeting was taking place there. No official information has been released, but some sources say that over a dozen Russian officers and generals were taken out in the attack.

Patience is definitely one of the virtues we get to train in during this war. I wish it could all happen fast, but I know that slow progress can help spare more lives, so I keep reminding myself to trust God’s timing.
