10/4/2023 – The idea “why we should help Ukraine rather than spending resources on our own country” can be easily planted and watered by ruzzian propaganda…

The meme in this post is a response to the recent ugly joke of Elon Musk about Ukraine asking for help every 5 min.

From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (587th day):

When on Feb 24th, 2022 ruzzia started massive invasion into Ukraine, putin was counting on two things – that Ukraine will not put up a strong fight and that West will express deep concerns and not try to help Ukraine. But he was wrong about both. The West took some time to assess whether Ukraine will collapse, but once it became obvious that we will not give in, gradually help started coming. The process of getting help has been slow mainly for the reason, that leaders in the West are afraid of ruzzian defeat almost as much as they don’t want Ukraine to be overtaken by this invasion.

Ukrainian defenders continue showing incredible courage and strength in fighting a much larger army and gradually liberating our land. Ruzzian failures on battle field are compensated by frequent terrorist attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in cities far away from the front lines.

But now ruzzia also seems to double its efforts in undermining support of Ukraine in the West. Ruzzian propaganda keeps pushing the narrative that Ukraine either doesn’t deserve the help or is not worth helping. The idea “why we should help Ukraine rather than spending resources on our own country” can be easily planted and watered by ruzzian propaganda. It appeals to our natural human selfishness and it totally makes sense to people who don’t want to bother with understanding that putin is not just a threat to Ukraine, he is threatening the whole democratic world and the security of the world at large. You might think, of course, she says that – she is Ukrainian. But this thought was broadcasted by many western media over the past 587 days. Now ruzzia wants the world to forget that it’s not only future of Ukraine that is being decided here, it’s future of current world order. But for most people it’s tiring to think about that. It’s so much easier to start repeating narrative of ruzzian propaganda that suggests that Ukraine should be left alone to fight for its right to exist.

There was an interesting article in The Atlantic yesterday. I will post a link in the first comment.
