From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 599):
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with salvation.
Psalm 149:4
Russia continues intense attacks on Avdiivka and around Kupiansk. They have lost over 4,000 people in five days! That’s why the soldiers say the Russians remind them of the walking dead when one body comes after another. They are being used as cannon fodder for the useless ambitions of their master. What a sad reality!
Ukraine also is bleeding and losing precious lives. Every death is a tragedy and will affect the generations that are to come.
When I was little, I didn’t really understand why grandma cared so much for the WWII veterans or the fallen if they were not her friends. Today, my son and I walked down the Alley of Heroes in my hometown, past the portraits of those who gave their lives in this war. There were only a couple of familiar names, but I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. I felt immense grief and a deep realization of how much we owe to their sacrifice.
May their names never be forgotten, and may the Lord restore justice soon!
