From Ukraine.ua– πΌοΈπΊπ¦ This month, the “Maria Prymachenko: Glory to Ukraine” exhibition was launched at The Ukrainian Museum in New York, featuring over 100 paintings, unique ceramic works, embroidered blouses, wooden plates, and children’s illustration books.
Maria Prymachenko, whose creative visionary esthetics were born out of traditional Ukrainian village arts and crafts movements of the 20th century, became one of the most beloved artists in Ukraine. Mariia’s artworks have appeared on stamps and coinage. She is particularly known for her brilliantly colored and inventive scenes of animals β lions, bears, birds, horses, and strange behemoths β covered in riotously hued patterns and for reflecting on Ukrainian traditional village life.
This is the first exhibition of Prymachenko’s art outside of Europe, and it will last until April 7, 2024.
