
From Euromaiden Press: Leveraging the country’s strong IT sector and startup talent, Ukraine has rapidly developed over 500 advanced defense tech solutions since Russia’s invasion began in February 2022.
These include encrypted military radios for $100 to counter Russia’s electronic warfare, AI systems that process 25,000 enemy targets per month, shooting training apps downloaded by 35,000 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, and electric cargo drones that transport 400kg of supplies across minefields.
The state platform BRAVE1 has funded over 15 Ukrainian startups and tech companies to quickly build and scale production of defense technologies tailored to the war’s rapidly evolving realities.
With speed, smarts and thrift, Ukraine’s IT specialists and engineers are outpacing Russia’s top-down military-industrial complex – demonstrating how agile grassroots innovation can counter brute force.
