From Ira Kapitonova Day (606):
Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;
save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
Psalm 6:4
Last night, Russia attacked a postal terminal in the Kharkiv region with missiles. Because of the missile type and proximity to the border, there were just a few seconds between the sirens and the hit. According to the latest report, six people were killed, and 17 were injured. There was an identical situation almost exactly 18 months ago, so it is no coincidence.
The postal terminal belongs to “Nova Poshta” (“New Post Office”), a strategically important enterprise. It is one of the most reliable ways to deliver essential goods to different regions of Ukraine. We use it all the time to get something from abroad (like power generators, flashlights, and other items that were out of stock during the blackouts), send items to our defenders at the frontlines (the service operates in towns a few miles away from the active combat zone), or send something to the newly liberated regions (the service offered free shipment of humanitarian aid to those in need). Knowing all this, we don’t think it was a coincidence. It is one more attack on the critical infrastructure, perhaps in preparation for the new round of attacks on our energy system.
I often ask myself how we can remain human after months and years of this cruelty. I have no other answer except for the miracle of God. How else would you explain a story of Ukrainian soldiers spending 2 hours to demine a cat?! When the group entered abandoned positions, they heard a cat screaming. Its legs were taped together, and you could barely see thin wires going out of its body. It was incredibly dangerous, and it would be safest to leave or set off the trap from a distance, yet our soldiers could not let the living thing perish, so they risked their lives and defused the mine. I wouldn’t have believed such stories are possible, but I know that with God, anything is possible.

4,000 years ago, David, the soldier, entrusted his life, and getting justice, to the King of heaven and earth:
Psalm 52 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
2 The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

Our Father in heaven,
Deliver us from evil
Lead us not into temptation
Give us today our daily bread
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us
(You know we say that only because You tell us to
Who can forgive sins but God?)
