From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv: This album is from our trip to Avdiivka in October of 2016. The town was already damaged by war then and people suffered. Now Avdiivka is a center of ruzzian focused efforts to destroy yet another Ukrainian town.
Ruzzians are losing hundreds of their soldiers every day. A few days ago they beat their own record of daily losses – there were 1300. But for them, that seems to be an acceptable price to pay for destroying lives of Ukrainians.
Before invasion in Feb 2022 the population of the town was 32,000. Now there are almost no civilians left. Those who survived and fled have no homes to return to.
