From Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (609th day): Ukrainian kids have to deal with a lot of stress and hardships since the beginning of invasion. One of those challenges is that interruptions of their school classes by air raids and missile/drone attacks. Right now only the schools that have bomb shelters are able to have classes in person. Most of those bomb shelters are very unattractive even if they have been somewhat repaired over the last few months.
But in Gostomel, in Kyiv region, there is this new bomb shelter built for elementary school. It’s styled as a Hobbit house. Someone put a lot of creativity and love into creating a space like this for kids!
There are people in ruzzia who spend all their working hours and efforts into finding new ways to cause destruction and suffering, there are those who execute orders to launch missiles and drones that would kill people in their beds during the night or children in school during the day. But thankfully there are people who are on the front lines risking their lives to keep fighting the evil that wants to take over our land and there are people who look for ways to help those in need, and people who are putting their hearts, talents and resources into finding ways to bring joy into lives of kids who are traumatized by war.
The project of building this bomb shelter was done by Gurtum Charity Foundation.
