11/25/2023 – Ukrainian families face food insecurity

From: Ukraine.ua – Just imagine that in Ukraine, one of the world’s breadbaskets, people now depend on humanitarian food assistance. Russian aggression drives food insecurity: the closer to the frontline, the more critical the situation is.

Among other challenges, approximately 30% of Ukraine’s land, including crucial agricultural areas, remains contaminated by the remnants of war. Moreover, Russia keeps targeting vital Ukrainian facilities essential for producing and exporting grains, threatening the world with hunger daily.

Continued attacks and the blockade of sea export routes will seriously impact agricultural production for years. In the worst-case scenario, Ukraine might struggle to meet both domestic and international demands. Therefore, the global community must stop Russia to ensure that Ukraine is back on its feet to feed the world’s hungry.
