11/25/2023 – Ukrainian Teens Win Peace Prize

From: Ukraine.ua – Three Ukrainian teenage girls were awarded the 2023 International Children’s Peace Prize in London for developing apps for refugee children.

Before the full-scale war, Sofia Tereshchenko, 18, Anastasiia Feskova, 17, and Anastasiia Demchenko, 17, already worked together on a mobile app. But after February 24, 2022, they focused their project on helping children who were forced to flee across the border without their parents.

The girls want to extend their apps to all refugee children to help them feel safe, integrate into a new country, and facilitate communication between refugee and host community children.

The International Children’s Peace Prize was launched in 2005. Among its winners are Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai.

So proud of Ukraine’s young generation πŸ«ΆπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦
