11/30/2023 – Anyone buying into 24-hour solutions to Ukraine-ruzzia war…? Hitlers and putins only get stopped by force.

From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (644th day): Usually, this kind of post does not get much traction, and I suspect I know the reasons. Posting about the upcoming Christmas or the joys of decorating a Christmas tree together with my granddaughter would be much more welcome.

But this will be about the support of Ukraine in this war against ruzzia by our Western partners, who are increasingly getting tired of war. I was thinking about Western fatigue from the Ukrainian war during the last massive drone attack on Kyiv that kept me awake most of the night. People who experience no impact of this war claim to be tired of it. People who are beginning to follow leaders who conveniently massage selfish human preferences for all the resources to be spent within one’s country’s borders are forgetting long-term security issues of fighting the enemy with growing appetite – a chance of fighting that enemy with minimum investment, in a foreign land and no boots on the ground.

Anyone buying into 24-hour solutions to Ukraine-ruzzia war (suggested by some notorious political leaders) should read what was happening at the start of World War II when some prominent world leaders like Chamberlain were making agreements with putin’s predecessor, Hitler, hoping that Sudetenland will satisfy the appetites of the growing monster. The effect was just the opposite. Those who are beginning to believe that giving putin part of Ukraine is going to stop him, really need to just study that part of human history. Hitlers and putins only get stopped by force.

I know I am probably stepping on some toes of my FB friends, who will tell me that I don’t understand American politics. Maybe I don’t. But if you don’t believe that ruzzia is a threat to your country (even though your generals say so), how about just plain business interests.

The White House released data on which states benefited the most financially from military aid to Ukraine in an effort to boost support among Republicans — Reuters:

▫️Pennsylvania received $2.3 billion in spending and investment in the production of weapons and ammunition, while 3 out of 8 Republican members of Congress from this state voted against military aid to Ukraine

▫️Texas received $1.45 billion for the production of 155-mm shells and other weapons, although 18 out of 25 Republicans voted against aid to Ukraine

▫️In Arizona, where 3 out of 6 Republicans voted against aid, $2.19 billion came.

▫️In Wisconsin, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Arkansas, companies received contracts worth more than $1 billion. Another $18 billion was distributed among manufacturing plants located in two dozen other states.”

Aid given to Ukraine is not handed over from Biden to Zelensky in suitcases full of US$. The portion allocated for weapons to fight USA enemy #1 (ruzzia) is invested into USA’s industry. If it’s not invested now, much more will have to be spent on defense if Ukraine falls.

At this point future of Ukraine depends not only on ruzzia’s evil intent and Ukraine’s resolve but on our western partners’ faithfulness to the commitments/promises they made to help to fight our common enemy. Ukraine continues paying the highest price in lives.

  1. In the midst of oppression by a tyrant who had seized neighboring lands-
Luke 2 “It came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (This taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
All went to be taxed, every one into his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. That’s how it happened, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”
