12/15/2923 – ‭‭Deliver me from those who work evil,and save me from bloodthirsty men.Psalm‬ ‭59:2‬ ‭

Today’s picture — a girl rests in the corridor of her apartment after the massive Russian drone attack on Kyiv on November 25, 2023. The windows in her apartment were shattered, and her older brother was wounded in front of her.

‭‭Deliver me from those who work evil,
and save me from bloodthirsty men.
Psalm‬ ‭59:2‬ ‭

I lost track of the number of air raids we had today. I think we had three just during the school day — one in the morning, one at lunch, and one just at the end of the day (with one or two more during the after-school program). It’s annoying and exhausting, but we are still grateful that we have a relatively comfortable basement and our air-defense forces. Today, during one of the air raids, our kids made cards for our air defense soldiers, and it was the sweetest thing! Our kids understand the importance and value of our air defense.

Meanwhile, The European Council has decided to open accession negotiations with Ukraine. It gives us hope, even though we are aware of the reality of circumstances.

Please, keep Ukraine in your prayers, especially over the next few weeks. Russia is most likely practicing for a massive missile strike. In any case, daily (and nightly) sirens turn out to be a pretty reliable psychological weapon they are not shy about using.

  1. Our Father in heaven,
    Deliver us from evil.
Give us today our daily bread.
    Lead us not into temptation.
Forgive us our trespasses, may we forgive those who trespass against us [do we believe in the forgiveness of sins? That Jesus paid the price for their sins as well as mine?]
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Hallowed be Thy name, for Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory.

From Lyuda (Day 296): Dear brothers and sisters, We woke up with air alarm today. Because there is no electricity the sirens don’t work, so we learn about alarms from the messages we receive. It looks like there is another massive attack for the whole territory of Ukraine. We don’t know the details yet we will get the information later.

Yesterday was a good day. We came to the church in the morning and we saw the girls from our youth group there. They say it’s boring at home when there is no electricity, so they come to the church. There is always something to do there and it’s fun to be together. It’s amazing that these young people are always in a good mood, they joke, they laugh and we start laughing with them.

We had a Bible study with our refugee group. We decided not to use generator to save petrol for the youth group meeting that was supposed to be later. Our youth meetings last about three hours and they like to cook something together. So, we used candles for our Bible study and met in the basement where the rooms are always warmer than upstairs.

Two new ladies came to the Bible study, they had many questions. They wondered why they did not know before that there is a group where you can find answers to many life questions.

Then I went to the local defense center where the group of volunteers are making camouflage covering nets and special costumes for scouts and snipers. In the summer we made green nets, in autumn yellow and brown, and now white to make the equipment of our army not visible in snow.

When I came home I was glad to have electricity and decided to cook some food in the oven. It was my mistake, because of a low voltage it took me forever. It’s good that the food was ready before the electricity disappeared again.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
    In Christ,
    Lyuda

Praise is in Big City Church, Kyiv – Церква Великого Міста, Київ !
