12/21/2023 – Czech volunteers plan fleet of 10,000 FPV drones for Ukraine

The NGO headed by the Czech Republic’s Chief of the General Staff, Karel Řehka, is to raise millions of dollars for the drone purchase.

The non-governmental organization Group D, uniting Czech soldiers, reservists, and representatives from the non-profit sector, aims to purchase 10,000 FPV drones for Ukraine, as reported by the Czech publication iROZHLAS.

Why does it matter? High-level support of the initiative underscores Czech commitment to aiding Ukraine. This official backing enhances credibility and encourages broader international collaboration.

Group D plans to announce a fundraising campaign targeting approximately one hundred million Czech crowns (around $44.4 million) in the coming days. 

Led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Military of the Czech Republic, Karel Řehka, the initiative has garnered support from organizations already supplying helmets, body armor, and thermal imagers to Ukraine.
