From: Kyiv Post – “The town of Marinka no longer exists,” said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.

“Ukrainian troops withdrew: in some places, they entrenched themselves on the outskirts of the town, and in others – a bit farther away,”
the army chief added.

According to Zaluzhnyi, Marinka in Donetsk region held out for almost 2 years − “it was destroyed street by street, then house by house.”
