2/11/2024 – I don’t have words…

Today’s picture – the fire after the missile attack in the Kharkiv region. Photo shared by the local Emergency Service and Government Administration.

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 717):

Today is one of the very few days when I can’t use a Bible verse to go with my post. That’s because I can’t think of anything that could be fitting.
Last night, Russian drones attacked a civil fuel storage facility in the Kharkiv region. The attack caused a leak and a massive fire that destroyed 15 private houses. The most devastating news is about a family that burned alive in their home – the parents and their three children, a 7-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 10-month-old baby. I don’t have words.

I know that many people might be discussing Putin’s recent interview. In his interview, for example, he says that Poland provoked the Nazi Germany, so Hitler didn’t have a choice but to start WWII. If he were asked about this family in the Kharkiv region, I’m sure he would have said they set themselves on fire just to get people mad at Russia. We’ve seen his perverse logic explained many times over the past ten years. I don’t think I can change anyone’s opinion. After all, each one of us has to choose for himself, and we’ll be held accountable for the choices we make and leaders we follow.
