From: Euromaiden Press – These screenshots capture the last messages posted by the wives, partners, and beloved ones of Ukrainian Defenders who made the ultimate sacrifice for Ukraine.
We reached out to all the women who shared these deeply personal moments, seeking their permission to amplify their voices and honour the memory of their fallen heroes. They consented and allowed us to bear witness to their grief, ensuring that more people can come to know the stories of their loved ones.
Ukrainians are dying, not because we chose war over peace, but because we chose resistance over slavery. Fewer of our courageous soldiers will perish if Ukraine continues to receive vital aid from our partners. The same aid that has become a subject of divisive political discourse is crucial for saving our loved ones from being killed in action.
On this Valentine’s Day, we ask you to reach out with messages of love and beauty to those closest to your heart. And in the midst of your reflections, consider how you, as an individual, can influence your political leaders to ensure that more Ukrainian couples can be reunited in love, safety, and the hard-won peace that their sacrifices have made possible.
