VOU ADMIN: This post shows how Russian society in general has dehumanized Ukrainian war victims. The text was translated and in an attempt to clarify the speakers in the conversation, the Russian soldier in Ukraine dialogue is italicized and the home response is in bold text.

You know, friends, I have no words for my northern neighbors for a long time. One thing I know for sure, that is a portal from hell…

Ukrainian director Oksana Karpovich’s film “Intercepted” was shown at the Berlin Festival. – “intercepted”. One and a half hours of intercepted telephone conversations between Russian “soldiers” from Ukraine with their families. Not all the quotes are accurate, but I convey the essence in the most accurate way.
“Mom, I enjoyed torturing so much! I can tell you what tortures I learned about and in which I participated” (and tells. Sorry can’t repeat it). – Son, it’s okay. If I could get there, I would also get high, but how else?
» This is without comment. No comment will prove to be adequate to what I have heard. In the auditorium, there is shock. Silence for one minute after the movie ends. Then the hall stands up and gives a standing ovation. It is rare to see a picture of the world like this, in an hour and a half. Of the Russian world.
“No, I’m not mad here – I’m just killing Nazis. Yesterday we were going, a woman with two children met us – well, we put them down. – That’s right, they are our enemies. – Yes, I don’t feel sorry for them. That’s their choice. Might as well leave like the rest of them. – That’s right, don’t spare them. Bay”.
“Did you see NATO bases there? – Nope. – Don’t lie to me – their base is there at every step, they tell us on TV. – Don’t watch TV, Mom – they tell the truth. – How is this not true? The truth, of course. That’s why you were sent there to protect us from NATO. You are heroes. Pass it on to your friends. – Almost no friends left – killed everyone. – I’m proud of you and your friends.”
“You know these hohly zloebuchie are living so good – better than us, right. – Well, it’s clear – the West contains them, they’re afraid to lose it and fight for it – and for what else? “
“I’ll bring you and the children so many things – we’re here in the apartment now, they left everything and ran away. Such a sporty family – ten pairs of sneakers, and all branded. I packed everything up, put it in my backpack. The guys are transporting trucks, but I don’t have a truck. – I have a good one, the economic one – everyone to the house. By the way, Sofia is going to school this year – maybe you can take the computer somewhere? “
In these conversations, the voices from Russia are much more interesting than the voices of the occupiers. It’s clear with these – they came to take, kill, torture. But it is the female voices – mothers, wives, girlfriends – that show such a degree of dehumanization that seems to be possible only in the anti-utopia fantasy. These loving voices are calling for more killings to bring loved ones home soon. These voices wish Ukrainians death. These voices ask you not to spare the children.
“Mom, why did we come here?!” People lived for themselves, and now we have sown half the country with corpses. For what?! – Don’t you dare talk like that. They are not humans at all. Fight on.”
The Family is the Mother.
To win.
