2/25/2024 – We are grateful to our defenders who keep standing between us and the genocide that ruzzians bring to territories they occupy…

From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (731st day):

Two years of full-scale war and 10 years since ruzzia started the invasion of Crimea.

There are no words to describe these 731 days. New Voice (Ukrainian media resource that we read) published a collection of photos of 24 months woven of despair, pain, shock rage, loss, and exhaustion, but also of unity, hope and fight against invaders. Every photo echoes in our hearts with still fresh memories and deep emotions. The photo I am using in this post shows Ukrainian soldiers on the bridge preparing to defend crossing from Left bank to the Right bank of Kyiv. We live on the Left. Sasha had arrangements with the maternity hospital on the Right bank to deliver Briana there when time came. However, when the invasion started bridges became hard to cross and there was always a concern that bridges would be bombed and Left and Right banks would be cut off from each other. Briana was born at the time when Kyiv was almost under siege and Sasha and Mykyta ended up going to the maternity hospital on the Left bank – the one that was closest to our home, though it was also super-close to the front lines then. Artillery cannonade was even louder at the hospital than we could hear it at home. The scariest time of our lives…

We are grateful to our defenders who keep standing between us and the genocide that ruzzians bring to territories they occupy. We are also thankful for friends worldwide who still care about what is happening in Ukraine, still praying and helping in many different ways. We do not take that for granted. In our world of short attention spans, political intrigues, short-lived promises, and ongoing informational war, faithfulness is a precious thing. Please keep praying and helping as we continue fighting for our right to live and be free.
