2/26/2024 – This woman who was able to view herself not as a victim, but as a person with dignity and dedication, inspired me today…

Today’s picture shows Olena from Chuhuiv on the first day of the full-scale invasion and today. Photo credits are on the picture.

Day 732

Be not a terror to me;
you are my refuge in the day of disaster.
Let those be put to shame who persecute me,
but let me not be put to shame;
let them be dismayed,
but let me not be dismayed;
bring upon them the day of disaster;
destroy them with double destruction!
Jeremiah 17:17-18

The news remains disturbing. Vandals in Poland keep destroying the crops from Ukraine (including beans and corn that were passing through the country to be shipped overseas). More executions of surrendered Ukrainian soldiers. More speculations about possible Russian offense.

However, I didn’t want to focus on this. I know that the enemy (both in the physical and spiritual realms) wants to use this news to break our spirit. And the only way to prevail is by praising God.
My reason for praise today is the woman in the picture below. I don’t know her, but the whole world has seen her picture from the first day of the full-scale war. She was wounded during a missile strike on her home, one of the first attacks on the Kharkiv region. Her eyes were damaged pretty badly, so she left Ukraine and underwent four surgeries to recover missile fragments from her body. Her vision hasn’t been completely restored, yet she returned to her hometown of Chuhuiv as soon as she could. This woman who was able to view herself not as a victim but as a person with dignity and dedication inspired me today. Let this also come true for Ukraine.
