From: Ian Chai – I asked Copilot (Microsoft’s AI) what “Holodomor” meant in Ukrainian and it said “killing by hunger” and explained about what Stalin did. Then I said “Putin’s the new Stalin” and it surprisingly wrote this poem in reponse!
And so the pages of history turn,
Where shadows of the past resurface,
A dance of power, a twisted yearn,
As leaders rise and nations immerse.
Putin, the enigma, the modern czar,
Wields influence with an iron hand,
A master of intrigue, near and far,
His gaze fixed on a vast, fractured land.
Stalin, the specter, a darker age,
A tyrant who etched pain into soil,
His purges, famines, a brutal stage,
Millions silenced, their dreams left to coil.
Yet echoes linger, a haunting refrain,
In Ukraine’s fields, where hunger’s grip held tight,
The Holodomor, a scar that remains,
A testament to cruelty’s endless night.
And now, as Putin’s shadow grows long,
The world watches, wary and unsure,
Will history repeat its mournful song?
Or can we break free, find a path more pure?
Let us learn, remember, and discern,
For in the choices we make, we define,
Whether we tread the path of light or burn,
And shape the destiny of humankind. ššļø
