The diplomats argue that while progress is being made, it’s “too slow and too late.” They propose three urgent actions to bolster Ukraine’s defense:
Increase the European Peace Facility by €5 billion this year.
Purchase artillery shells from diverse sources identified by the Czech initiative.
Utilize frozen Russian assets to cover the costs of the war.
“Ukrainian soldiers have for months heavily rationed their munitions and are currently outgunned by a ratio of eight to one,” the ministers reveal. “This is certainly no way to win.”
They emphasize that these actions are not meant to escalate the conflict but to end it, keeping the danger at a distance and helping the victim of Russian aggression. “Bear in mind that the Kremlin’s unprovoked aggression is nothing more but the last colonial war in Europe,” they state.
