4/11/2024 – Despite what Putin would like Americans to believe, Ukraine is Europe’s evangelical stronghold — the “Bible Belt” of Eastern Europe…

From: Maia Mikhaluk (777th day): If I was an American, I would be offended by blatant lies that Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is spreading about religious freedoms in Ukraine and ruzzia to support her anit-Ukrainian position. Even not being an American, I am offended on behalf of my American friends, especially Christians whose “hot buttons” Green is trying to push with her lies.

This is what she said on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, “Let’s talk about what this really is, Steve. This is a war against Christianity. The Ukrainian government is attacking Christians; the Ukrainian government is executing priests. Russia is not doing that; they’re not attacking Christianity. As a matter of fact, they seem to be protecting it.”

I don’t believe she is speaking out of ignorance. No self-respecting, educated person can claim ignorance when information is so readily available. She is repeating ruzzian propaganda lies intentionally.

“Prior to Russia’s full-fledged invasion, 7,170 Protestant associations, educational institutions, and churches found refuge in Ukraine. And to this day, Ukraine retains the distinction of being Europe’s largest evangelical country, with approximately 800,000 to 1 million individuals attending Protestant churches every Sunday. Despite what Putin would like Americans to believe, Ukraine is Europe’s evangelical stronghold — the “Bible Belt” of Eastern Europe.”

The Christian community is quite global, and Christians in the States know Christians in Ukraine. Anyone willing to make the smallest effort to check the facts can easily expose these lies. Christianity is thriving in Ukraine! There is freedom to share the gospel, and churches are being planted—even in these difficult times of war. Our small ministry has planted four new churches just in the past two years!

If there is a persecution of Christians in Ukraine, it’s in the occupied by ruzzians territories. One of our churches that used to be in Avdiivka, had to relocate to Pokrovsk because ruzzians destroyed Avdiivka. The building where the church was in Pokrovsk was also shelled shortly after relocation. Now that ruzzians are bombing Pokrovsk, this church has to relocate again.

Since ruzzia’s full-scale invasion over two years ago, their forces have been responsible for damaging or destroying at least 660 churches and other religious structures, including at least 206 belonging to Protestants,” according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Ukrainian pastors are being kidnapped, tortured and killed by ruzzian invaders. I will post in the first comment under this post a link to an article that can offer more facts.

“Despite the false narrative propagated by some American media outlets portraying Putin as a defender of Christianity, reality paints a different picture. Russia’s hostility toward evangelical Christians is manifested through draconian laws, violent crackdowns, and desecration of places of worship. Russia operates as a totalitarian regime, imposing strict laws and repression upon Christians. Any deviation from Orthodox beliefs aligned with the Moscow Patriarchate brands you an enemy.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene holds an elected position. I guess that means that there were people who trusted or trust her. It’s sad to see especially Christians going along with the obvious lies without bothering to seek the truth or even knowing that those are lies but choosing to support people spreading them because you agree with them on some other issues.
