4/14/2024 – ‭You have turned for me my mourning into dancing..,

From: Ira Kapitonova (Day 780):

‭You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
Psalm 30:11-12

I’m sorry if some of you got worried when you didn’t find my Day 780 post at the usual time. I was so tired last night that I fell asleep, forgetting about everything. I’m catching up now.

We got to spend our Saturday with our school community. We had a wonderful day outside and enjoyed a picnic and fellowship. At some point, we heard an air raid warning, but thankfully, it passed really quickly and barely noticed.

I was wondering if writing about us having a good time may paint the wrong picture of the people living in a country during wartime. However, the verses from Psalm 30 encouraged me to share about things that give praise to God. I remember a time when our family faced a lot of uncertainty because of some health issues. As I was going to the hospital to hear from the doctor, I remembered these psalm lines, “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing,” and decided to praise God even before I knew the outcome because God is always worthy of our praise.

We don’t know the outcome of this war. We don’t even know what today may bring, yet we will praise the Lord!

  1. Actually, it is wonderful to hear that you had a lovely day. I had been praying earlier that people would have time for fellowship and enjoying warmer weather. God’s word tells us that in suffering their is hope. James said we are to have joy in our suffering knowing our life is beyond this world.
