From: Ira Kapitonova (Day 781):
My times are in your hand;
rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
Make your face shine on your servant;
save me in your steadfast love!
O Lord, let me not be put to shame, for I call upon you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
let them go silently to Sheol.
Psalm 31:15-17
A couple of days ago, when Iran attacked Israel, they used the same kamikaze drones Russia uses for their attacks on Ukraine. In some footage, you can even hear their sounds. Two dictatorships uniting against the democratic world — what else is new? The only sound response can be the unity of the democratic world.
I saw this picture today. A sort of weather forecast with a caption, “Today is going to be a sunny day in Europe with a chance of missile showers in Ukraine.” I realized I would rather have this “missile forecast” as it would perhaps limit my anxiety to the predicted time periods. At the same time, it would fool us and give us a sense of security and a false sense of control.
None of us is immune to wickedness or death in this life, which is why we need always to be alert and praying at all times so that we “may not enter into temptation.”
Even though living in wartime is incredibly hard and something no one should ever experience, at least it keeps eternal truths at the forefront of our minds.
