Mike Johnson:
“This is not a game. It’s not a joke. We can’t play politics with this. We have to do the right thing. And I’m going to allow an opportunity for every single member of the House to vote their conscience and their will on this, and I think that’s the way this institution is supposed to work. And I’m willing to take personal risk for that because we have to do the right thing, and history will judge us.”
These are the words Ukrainians have been waiting for – they should have been uttered months and months ago, saving thousands of lives. But better late than never. We pray hard that this will not be another round of “games.” We are praying hard for help to come before it’s too late.
For those who are still asking why the USA has to help Ukraine (when there are so many domestic problems in the States), I will repeat once again two main points (one of those now expressed by Mike Johnson):
- It’s better for you to send “bullets” to help us defeat ruzzia than have to fight an emboldened enemy yourself later (soon).
- United States talked Ukraine into giving up its nuclear arsenal in 1994 and guaranteed Ukraine’s sovereign borders in case of invasion. If Ukraine remained the third largest nuclear weapons country that we were then, we would not be attacked by ruzzia, or if we were attacked, we would have protection like Israel got a few days ago during Iran’s attack.
