5/7/2024 – How I wish I could stop the time and just be silent before God…

From: Ira Kapitonova (Day 803):

‭God looks down from heaven
on the children of man
to see if there are any who understand,
who seek after God.
Psalm 53:2

Our lives are too fast-paced, even more so during war. We seem to be in a constant hurry to get things done before an air raid, to reach out or help as many people as we can before it’s too late, to just keep moving to feel useful. I caught myself in this mode today, and I also caught myself longing to be still in God’s presence. How I wish I could stop the time and just be silent before God, letting His grace wash over me. I allowed myself this minute of self-reflection and then rushed on to get things done, knowing that the soldiers on the frontline may not have even this minute.

There are reports about Russians hiring teenagers in the occupied territories to cause unrest on social media. They are instructed on how to comment on complex issues to cause much controversy.
Russia is once again resorting to nuclear terrorism, planning to hold a tactical use of nuclear weapons training.
Russia is threatening to target British military objects outside of Ukraine because of the military aid (including Storm Shadow rockets) recently supplied to Ukraine. It’s just ridiculous.

I wonder how a minute of self-reflection or a minute in the presence of the Almighty could change those who are behind the things reported above.

One response to “5/7/2024 – How I wish I could stop the time and just be silent before God…”

  1. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven [because we love You and want to please You and know what You say is best] Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us what we owe You as we also have forgiven others what they owe us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, for Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
