From: Euromaiden Press – On 8 May, Ukraine pays tribute to the victims of World War II on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, and on 9 May Ukrainians remember the Allied defeat of Nazism in World War II.
During these two days, Ukrainians honour the victims of World War II and all the brave men and women that gave their lives in the war against Nazism, alongside their Allied friends. Over 10 million Ukrainians lost their lives in World War II.
Today, “Never again!” rings hollow in the ears of Ukrainians. On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion that continues today, revealing all the cynicism, cruelty and barbarity of the Kremlin regime.
Today we honour and remember our soldiers, all the men, women and children who have died in this brutal war.
