From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 804):
Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life.
He will return the evil to my enemies;
in your faithfulness put an end to them.
Psalm 54:4-5
I saw a comment made by a young soldier, “I was ten years old when my hometown was occupied. I promised my mom to fight the enemy when I grew up, to which she said the war would be over by the time I grew up. I am twenty years old now, and I am fighting the enemy.”
I was stunned by this comment because, just the other day, I was thinking about my son getting older and the experts saying this war may last for decades until Russia is completely defeated. These thoughts are grim, but so is the reality. We may convince ourselves that this war is too distant and has nothing to do with us, but one day, it may come to the threshold of your home. That’s why we keep urging the world to stand united against the evil brought by Russia upon Ukraine for now, warning that it can spread like wildfire, consuming the whole world unless it’s extinguished now.
