5:17/2024 — People from other countries show their support and appreciation of Ukrainian culture posting photos wearing Ukrainian embroidery!

From: Maia Mikhaluk (813rd day)

We returned home on Vyshyvanka Day. This year it is on May 16th. Vyshyvanka is a traditional Ukrainian embroidery. Over the past decade, embroidered shirts and dresses have become increasingly popular. People wear them for special occasions and celebrations. Of course, today being Vyshyvanka Day you can see many people on the streets wearing embroidered clothes. My FB page also is extra colorful today as people post their own pictures wearing traditional Ukrainian vyshyvankas. I noticed that it’s not only Ukrainians who are posting. People from other countries show their support and appreciation of Ukrainian culture posting photos wearing Ukrainian embroidery!

It’s good to be home! We enjoyed the peace (no sounds of air raids) of other countries, and our time with Danny and friends in the States was precious, but even though we now get back to air raids and blackouts, there is nothing like home! And, of course, there is nothing like getting a hug from Briana!
