Currently ruzzian troops are pushing hard in their attack on Kharkiv region. The city is under relentless bombings and the towns and villages north of Kharkiv are being leveled to the ground as ruzzian troops are doing their usual scorched earth “liberation”. Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine is mere 20 kilometers away from ruzzian border. Ruzzians shell Kharkiv from their own territory.
As delayed military aid is finally coming to Ukraine, our partners still want to keep our hands tied behind our back while ruzzians are hitting us. Now even Mike Johnson appeals to Biden to allow Ukraine to use the weapons to hit targets on ruzzian territory! Our Western partners banning our use of military aid to hit ruzzian territory allows ruzzians to gather their forces on our borders and keep destroying anything in their reach, like they do now in Kharkiv region.
It’s like Rosevelt telling Churchill in 1940, Look Winston, I know this Hitler is bombing all your cities but you can’t use our Lend Lease weapons outside of the UK, only in your own land.
Sometimes it feels like our allies are more afraid of ruzzia’s defeat than they are concerned about complete destruction of Ukraine. The promised military aid gets frequently delayed, then when it is finally given we are not allowed to use it in a way that would give us a chance to stop ruzzian aggression.
This map shows all the Russian military bases within ATACMS range. (ATACMS are recently given by the USA to Ukraine after months and months of our pleading for them, but we are still not allowed to use them on targets in ruzzia)
Institute for the Study of War:
“US policy banning Ukraine’s use of US-provided weapons against legitimate military targets in Russian Federation has created de facto sanctuary of 347,000 square kilometers of Russian military and paramilitary bases.
Russian forces are taking advantage of US limitations on Ukraine’s use of systems such as ATACMS, HIMARS and Patriots in Russian territory to amass forces and supplies for the ongoing invasion of Kharkiv Oblast and conduct continuous glide bomb strikes against Kharkiv City and frontline areas. Ukraine could disrupt these attacks if the US allowed it to use US-provided weapons against Russian bases and force concentrations actively supporting Russian attacks on Ukraine.”
