
From: New Voice of Ukraine 🇺🇦 Russian forces carried out a significant strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, causing widespread damage that is still being evaluated, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko reported on June 1.
Energy facilities in at least five regions—Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Ivano-Frankivsk—were struck, according to the minister. “Energy workers are actively working to address the aftermath of the strike,” Halushchenko added.
The Ukrainian Air Force detected the launch of missiles by Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers during the night of June 1. Additional attacks involved missiles launched from the Black Sea and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
In Vinnytsia Oblast, a fire erupted at a critical infrastructure site following the attack. Reports of explosions were also confirmed in Lviv Oblast, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, and Zaporizhzhya, intensifying the night’s events.
