6/2/2924 — If we didn’t trust promises in Budapest in 1994 ruzzia wouldn’t be attacking us now…

From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (829th day)

During the night and early morning hours Ukraine was attacked by ruzzia again with 53 missiles and 47 drones. There is further damage to energy infrastructure as well as residential areas.

30 years ago Ukraine signed a Budapest memorandum and agreed to give up its third largest in the world stockpile of nuclear weapons in exchange for security assurance from the USA, UK and ruzzia – basically, for a promise that those countries would protect us if our sovereign borders get threatened. 28 ago on this day we turned over our last nuclear weapons to ruzzia. We had about 1900 strategic nuclear warheads and between 2,650 and 4,200 Soviet tactical nuclear weapons.

Now ruzzia is attacking us and USA/UK are reluctantly and very slowly providing us with some weapons so we could defend ourselves. The reluctance and slowness, as well as restrictions on using those weapons to hit military targets in ruzzia have to do with everyone’s fear of ruzzian nuclear power. If we didn’t trust promises in Budapest in 1994 ruzzia wouldn’t be attacking us now.
