From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 840) (I just realized my post didn’t go through last night)
So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12
Tuesday night did bring a combined drone and missile attack, and Kyiv was its main target. We heard the shots of air defense and a slightly distant explosion when a drone was shot down. Our defenders managed to down all 24 drones and four missiles. One ballistic missile did hit a fuel storage near Kyiv.
It didn’t really get us into the festive mood for our end-of-the-school-year celebration, as most of us got only a couple of hours of sleep, but it couldn’t ruin our day either.
Today’s picture shows siren notifications on my phone. You can see the time of these. Several red ones in a row mean the beginning of the air raid and increased danger alerts for our location when we are warned not to ignore the sirens, as missiles are definitely coming our way. The green notifications mean that the air raid is over.
That was an exhausting night, but it gave us even more reasons to thank God as we celebrated our school’s talents.
