‭Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the Lord on high is mighty!
Psalm 93:4

Representatives from 101 nations and international organizations came together for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland to end the war in Ukraine. This event might not bring some specific deals, but it is a powerful statement of the world’s unity against evil.

Key Statements from Day One:
— “Yesterday, Putin put forward proposals for resolving the war, but he is not talking about negotiations. He is talking about Ukraine’s surrender,” said U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
— “Freezing the Russia-Ukraine war is not a solution. It is a recipe for future aggressive wars. We must support a comprehensive peace for Ukraine. A peace that restores Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
— “An immediate ceasefire without serious negotiations simply legitimizes Russia’s seizure of Ukrainian land and leads to a new frozen conflict,” said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
— “Croatia supports a peace where the victims should not have to surrender and leave their own territory to the aggressor,” said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
— “As many states as possible should put pressure on Moscow to agree to a real peace process. The West cannot do this alone,” said Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
— “Before Bucha, there was Abkhazia, and before the war in Ukraine, there was the war against Georgia. Ukraine is fighting for the security of all Europe and beyond,” said Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.

Let us pray for the wisdom of all participants and God’s blessing on this summit. May their action plan bring lasting peace and restore justice to Ukraine.
