From: Ira Kapitonova (Day 851)
I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
to you, O Lord, I will make music.
Psalm 101:1
“16-year-old Vitaliy, who got out of the occupation in the Kherson region, says that he makes no plans and has no dreams because tomorrow may not come.
18-year-old Anna lived in the occupation for ten years and learned not to talk and not to ask too many questions.
16-year-old Inna lives in Norway and says that, just like in the occupation, she is in “survival mode.”
18-year-old Evelyn, having lived among Russian propaganda and fakes for ten years, chose Ukraine. She is learning to get used to the idea that she may never visit her hometown again.”
This was an introduction to the article about teenagers who experienced Russian occupation. Even this short paragraph gives a good reason for Ukraine to keep fighting to make sure no child ever experiences these horrors.
16-year-old Inna from the article says, “No matter how much we tell them about the war and the occupation, they will not understand it. But I don’t want them to understand it. I just want to be noticed.” I couldn’t have said it better.
I appreciate the opportunity to be seen, heard, noticed, and prayed for by all of you.
