6/27/2014 — EU grants Ukraine $2 billion to boost economic resilience

From: New Voice of Ukraine 🇺🇦 Ukraine’s State Budget received €1.9 billion ($2 billion) in unconditional funding from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program, the Finance Ministry reported on Facebook on June 27.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the EU has allocated nearly EUR 35 billion ($37.4 billion) in direct budgetary assistance, said Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko. These funds have supported macroeconomic stability and enabled financing of priority budgetary needs.

“The EU is a key partner for Ukraine, continuing to play a decisive role in accelerating our victory and strengthening the country’s economic resilience,” Marchenko said.

Ukraine Facility program

The Ukraine Facility is a program that envisions Ukraine receiving financial and technical assistance from the EU totaling EUR 50 billion ($53.5 billion) for the years 2024-2027. This includes EUR 38.27 billion ($41 billion) allocated to budget support, EUR 6.97 billion ($7.5 billion) to an investment fund, and EUR 4.76 billion ($5 billion) to technical and administrative support.

The European Union in November 2023 could reportedly provide Ukraine with about EUR 7 billion ($7.5 billion) to maintain macro-financial stability in advance of the Ukraine Facility program.
