Marc Dzialak, an 11-year-old boy with Ukrainian heritage, has made history as the youngest participant at Food Zürich, Europe’s third-largest and Switzerland’s biggest food festival. Marc led a 5-hour “Invincible Varenyky” cooking class, where he demonstrated the art of making five different types of Ukrainian varenyky, a traditional filled dumpling.
Raised in Switzerland by his Ukrainian mother and Polish father, Marc has cultivated a passion for Ukrainian cuisine since the age of five. Despite his young age, he possesses a deep understanding and appreciation for the culinary traditions of his Ukrainian roots.
During the cooking class, Marc guided attendees through the process of preparing varenyky, sharing his knowledge with enthusiasm. From mixing the dough to creating the fillings and shaping the dumplings, Marc captivated the audience with his culinary skills.
Food Zürich, a renowned gastronomic event, provided Marc with a platform to show his talents and introduce the flavors of Ukrainian cuisine to a diverse audience.
