From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 867)
For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 117:2
We’re still trying to process yesterday’s attack and are learning new details that keep hitting deep.
A friend learned that the OBGYN they consulted during their pregnancy was among the victims after yesterday’s second strike. The missiles came right after the sirens, leaving people no time to get to the shelter. This second site (a private medical center and a private fertility clinic) has the most casualties.
A girl who received injuries during the Russian strike on Chernihiv drama theater last year came to the children’s hospital in Kyiv for surgery. She and her mom are safe, but her father received some injuries from the shards.
However traumatic, this tragedy brought us together again. I saw infographics with a long list of companies that donated to the cause. It’s inspiring to see businesses care for values, not just their profits.
Please be the ones who care. Contact your political representatives and encourage them to support Ukraine. Help spread the truth. Make responsible decisions. Pray for Ukraine.
I believe that Ukraine will prevail, and decades later, when your grandchildren ask you about these days, may you have a beautiful story to share, a story that would teach them the importance of values and choosing others over your personal gain.

” I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Rev.21

“Everybody each and all
We’re gonna die eventually
It’s no more or less our faults
Than it is our destiny
So now Lord I come to you
Asking only for Your grace
You know what I’ve put myself through
All those empty dreams I chased
And when my body lies in the ruins
Of the lies that nearly ruined me
Will You pick up the pieces
That were pure and true
And breathe Your life into them
And set them free?
And when You start this world over
Again from scratch
Will You make me anew
Out of the stuff that lasts?
Stuff that’s purer than gold is
And clearer than glass could ever be
Can I be with You?
Can I be with You?”
