Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Ukrainians are much more aware of international politics than people of other countries. I wonder if there is any other nation in the world that is watching as closely as Ukrainians what is happening during the current NATO Summit in the States.
No doubt ruzzian massive missile strike on July 8th that destroyed the largest children’s hospital in Ukraine (and Easter Europe) was a challenge primarily addressed at NATO, a demonstration of arrogance of a terrorist country that has zero regards for international norms. Ruzzia keeps pushing the boundaries to see how far it can go in its brutality.
So while grieving the victims of July 8th terrorist attack Ukrainians are watching the news coming from the NATO summit hoping to see Western leaders realize that a bully can be only stopped by force and Ukraine will not only receive more weapons to fight aggressors but also have permission to use those weapons against aggressors! At times it’s infuriatingly frustrating – to see how it takes months and months to get some Western weapons only to find that we still don’t have permission to use those weapons proactively to hit ruzzian airfields before their planes take off and launch missiles. Maybe today the USA will give us permission to use the weapons against ruzzian military targets within ruzzian territory? How many Ukrainian kids have to die for the world to understand that escalation of war takes place when putin feels the weakness of the West rather than when the West shows determination to help Ukraine fight ruzzian aggression? In fact, the reason putin keeps pushing is because he is sure he can outlast the West’s attention commitment to defending its values.

lyrics by Rich Mullins
Why do the nations rage?
Why do they plot and scheme?
Their bullets can’t stop the prayers we pray
In the name of the Prince of Peace
We walk in faith and remember long ago
How they killed Him and then how on the third day He arose
Well, things may look bad
And things may look grim
But all these things must pass except the things that are of Him
Where are the nails that pierced His hands?
Well the nails have turned to rust
But behold the Man
He is risen
And He reigns
In the hearts of the children
Rising up in His name
Where are the thorns that drew His blood?
Well, the thorns have turned to dust
But not so the love
He has given
No, it remains
In the hearts of the children
Who will love while the nations rage
The Lord in Heaven laughs
He knows what is to come
While all the chiefs of state plan their big attacks
Against His anointed One
The Church of God she will not bend her knees
To the gods of this world though they promise her peace
She stands her ground
Stands firm on the Rock
Watch their walls tumble down when she lives out His love
Where are the nails that pierced His hands?
Well the nails have turned to rust
But not so the Man
He is risen
And He reigns
In the hearts of the children
Rising up in His name
Where are the thorns that drew His blood?
Well, the thorns have turned to dust
But behold the love
He has given
It remains
In the hearts of the children
Who will love while the nations rage

Lord Jesus- Let us see your judgement come. End this awfulness. Bring peace and healing. Only you can direct the leaders- please grant wisdom, decisiveness. Please don’t delay. We wait on you.
