From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 894)
Blessed be the Lord, my rock,
who trains my hands for war,
and my fingers for battle;
he is my steadfast love and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield and he in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples under me.
Psalm 144:1-2
I was in Kyiv today but returned to the village in the evening. I was enjoying the quiet evening (or rather night – it was 11 p.m. already) when I saw a message alert on my phone. My friends in Kyiv were checking on each other. Moments before that, several explosions awoke the residents of Kyiv. Our city was attacked with ballistic missiles. Thankfully, it looks like there were no casualties or destruction.
A few days ago, there was a tragic report about a rescue team member who arrived at the site to extinguish a fire after a massive Russian attack on the Velykyi Burluk village and saw the ruins of his own home. His wife was killed, and his 10-year-old son was taken to the hospital.
How long, o Lord?
