Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;
his majesty is above earth and heaven.
Psalm 148:13

This past week felt challenging – we all got a virus and all the “delights” it comes with. It’s hard to be positive when you are not feeling well and are low on energy. Even our cats needed to be taken to a vet because of a feline virus. Feeling all miserable, you catch yourself thinking it’s unfair that you are sick on top of everything else that’s going on in your country.

A few days ago, my husband read on the news about a car accident and a tree that crushed people in the park. He said it felt weird to read about deaths that were not related to the war.

Today, Russians hit a supermarket in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. As of now, they reported about 14 people killed (possibly including three children) and over 40 injured. Are these death reports easier to stomach because of their proximity to the frontline? Not at all. Each human life is precious, and the Lord keeps track of our sorrows and collects our tears in a bottle that’s already overflowing, and He will comfort.
