8/14/2024 — Ukraine Navy: Russia can’t launch Black Sea landing due to lack of capability

Russian forces still hope to launch an amphibious assault on the Black Sea coast, but they lack the capability to do so, according to Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk.

From: New Voice of Ukraine 🇺🇦 Pletenchuk made this statement during an appearance on the national TV.

“The enemy hasn’t given up on their plans, because when the Russian dictator says, ‘Let’s negotiate based on the realities on the ground,’ they somehow avoid acknowledging the ‘realities at sea.’ The realities at sea are a bit different. Plans are one thing, but capabilities are another,” he emphasized.

Pletenchuk explained that such operations aren’t conducted in isolation; they require the support of ground forces. However, Russia’s ground component in this direction “stalled” at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, so Russia currently cannot carry out this operation on its own.
