President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Aug. 15 that Ukrainian services have developed a strategy to secure the return of Ukrainian citizens held in Russian captivity. 

From: New Voice of Ukraine 🇺🇦 In a video address, Zelenskyy said the strategy was presented during a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief, focusing on delicate details like list formation and coordination with international partners.

Zelenskyy tasked the GUR, Interior Ministry, Security Service, and Armed Forces with sharing details about future prisoner exchanges with the public. He also directed the involvement of organizations representing the families of captive Ukrainian soldiers and civilians to build trust.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Ukrainian and Russian representatives had begun negotiations for a prisoner exchange following Ukraine’s recent operation in the Kursk region. On Aug. 15, the “I Want to Live” project reported that Ukrainian Defense Forces had captured an entire Russian company in the Kursk region. Sources informed NV that SBU special forces captured 102 soldiers from Russia’s 488th Guards Motor Rifle Regiment and the Akhmat unit in the Kursk region.
