8/17/2024 — Pepsi is a great example of a morally bankrupt company hiding behind a facade of “responsibility”

From: Roman Sheremeta — Pepsi is a great example of a morally bankrupt company hiding behind a facade of “responsibility”.

Pepsi operates 19 plants and employs about 60,000 people in russia. In 2024 it opened a new plant in russia with a snack production capacity of 60K tons per year. In 2023, it generated $4.2 billion in revenue in russia, paying $135 million just in profit taxes to russia’s fully militarized economy.

When looking for a new advertising/PR agency in Ukraine in 2023, PepsiCo made it a condition for a potential partner to exclude any mention of the war, or support for Ukraine and its army in future communications.

PepsiCo is a great example of a morally bankrupt company that de-facto sponsors russian terrorism and war crimes. PepsiCo has already been added to the list of international sponsors of war. But we need more!

Here are some practical steps:

  1. Share this post with your friends and let them know about the moral bankruptcy of Pepsi.
  2. Go to PepsiCo page and leave a comment reminding them that they are sponsoring war crimes.
  3. Stop buying their products, they are not good for you anyway. But if you cannot live without soda, then switch to Coca-Cola.
  4. Stop working for Pepsi. I had several connections on LinkedIn who worked for Pepsi. I removed them, because I cannot be connected to people who even tangentially enable genocide against my family and friends.
